Our Purpose
Rural Community Action Ministry (RCAM) works with people to meet their needs for safe and adequate shelter, clothing, food and basic well-being in a manner that maintains or improves their self-worth and dignity.

RCAM is a 501c(3) non-profit organization providing services since 1970 to vulnerable rural families in 13 surrounding Maine towns:

Androscoggin County:  Greene, Leeds, Livermore, Sabattus, Turner, Wales
Kennebec County:       Litchfield, Monmouth, Wayne
Oxford County:           Buckfield, Canton, Hartford, Sumner


RCAM's Senior Residence includes 4 permanent rental units for individuals 55 or older. Preference is given to applicants who are homeless.  MaineHousing provides Section 8 rental assistance for these fully furnished SRO (single-room occupancy) units.
